ACID DYES

We are pleased to present shade illustration of our Acid Dyes Range. Our vibrant range is suitable for dyeing of wool, nylon, leather, paper and sild.

Application

This shade card is prepared on wool as substrate and the application procedure is as follows:-

Preparation of substrate for dyeing

the wool to be dyed is scoured with suitable scouring agent (anionic in nature) before dyeing to remove impurities and thus to ensure level dyeing.

Preparation of dyestuff solution

It is important to first paste one part of dyestuff with two of Di-ethylene Glycol and four parts of cold water. Stir thoroughly and then hot water is added to make the required volume.

Dyeing Method

Different procedures for various range being adopted for dyeing Acid dyes are as follows:

Procedure No. 1:

A Solution to 5-10% Anhydrous Glauber's Salt & 2-4% Sulphuric Acid 66 BE' is prepared. Dyestuff solution is added to the above solution while stirring. The material is entered at 50°C. After running for 5 minutes at this temperature, the dye-bath is gradually raised to boil and dyeing is continued for 45-60 minutes.

Procedure No. 2:

A soution of 5-10% Anhydrous Glauber's Salt & 2-4% Formic Acid (85%) is prepared. The rest of the process to be carried out as per procedure No.1.

Procedure No.3:

A solution of 5-10% Anhydrous Glauber's Salt & 2-4% Glacial Acetic Acid (40%)is prepared. Dyestuff solution is then added to the above solution and material is entered at 50°C. Then temperature is slowly raised to boil. If necessary 1-4% Suphuric Acid (66°Be) added after 45 minutes to complete exhaustion. Dyeing is further continued for 15 minutes.

Procedure No.4:

A solution of 5-10% Anhydrous Glauber's Salt & 2-4% Glacial Acetic Acid (40%) is prepared. Dyestuff solution is then added to the above solution. The material is entered at 50°C and temperature is slowly raised to boil 2-4% Glacial Acetic Acid (40%) is added after 30 minutes to achieve complete exhaustion. Dyeing is continued for 30 minutes.

Procedure No.5:

A solution of 2-3% Ammonium Sulphate Or 2-5% Ammonium Acetate is prepared; The material is entered into the above solution at 40'C and run for 10 minutes. Dyestuff solution is then added. The temperature of the bath is slowly raised to boil within 40 minutes and continued for 45-60 minutes depending on the depth of shade.

The material is then rinsed in cold water and dried.

Note: 1 gpl Ammonium Sulphate, a suitable leveling agent and Acetic Acid (pH 5 to 6.5) are added instead of ammonium sulphate for Acid Black 194.
